Tateyama Resort Hotel

Introduction

If you’re looking for a Mediterranean-inspired resort in Japan, this place in Tateyama is honestly one of the most relaxing spots I’ve been to lately.
Just two hours from Tokyo, and suddenly you’re surrounded by white Spanish-style buildings, a huge garden, and a calm coastline that looks nothing like the usual city views.

All guest rooms come with a balcony, so you always get a view of either the ocean or the garden.
The hot spring “Shiosai” uses their own natural source, and it’s perfect if you want a slow, peaceful stay.

Summer is the best season here — the resort opens its daytime pool, night pool, and twilight pool, each with a completely different atmosphere.
The night pool is especially beautiful with its heart-shaped lighting and calm music.

They also host a Mermaid Show on August 24, where performers swim like real mermaids in the illuminated night pool.
It’s a unique event you won’t see in many places.
During the summer season, they also have festival-style “Yomise” nights with classic Japanese games — fun for both kids and adults.

For dinner, the buffet offers over 50 dishes including seafood, steak, and seasonal items.
At night, the entire resort lights up with warm illumination, making it an easy spot to enjoy a quiet walk after your meal.

If you’re planning a summer trip, family trip, or a quick resort weekend from Tokyo, this place is definitely worth checking out.
